Today, I voted

Today, I voted.

I voted for the economy
I voted for control over my own body
I voted for inclusion
I voted for education
I voted for the climate
I voted for diplomacy
I voted for all the little girls
I voted for all the old ladies
I voted for love
And most importantly, I voted for the world I want my son to live and grow in.

I choked up a little when I made that little circle dark black. She isn't all things I want her to be. But that's okay. Because it's close enough. And that's what democracy is about.
