Ouch!

Holy crap - acupuncture and a flu shot in the same day. Let me impart a bit of wisdom, don't do that. It hurts. Harrydog found a roll of toilet paper while we were gone today. My own dog tp-ed my house. Awesome. Cleaning that up was a load of fun. ******************** My Arthritis Walk donation page is still live. 3 More Days 'Til Friday

Two full days of being on my feet, and I'm beat. Beerman is entertaining the editors of Brewing and Distilling International tonight, so it's just C-man and me. **************************************************** Arthritis Walk update: There's still time to join me in the walk, although the price is $5 a head higher now. If you can't walk with me at the zoo on November 11th, be sure to donate to my team! Thanks to all those who already have and help to solve my 16q chromosome! https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=236160&supid=193905329

Long Day

I got to work at 6:45 and have been training all day. My back is killing me. It's time to go home. C-man had a bit of a meltdown last night. I think it might have been too much trick-or-treating. I'm hoping tonight we're all happier people. *********************************** Shout out to another fabulous donation by J & T to my arthritis walk team. Gracias! If you haven't donated, there's still time: https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=236160&lis=1&kntae236160=00E5F3660DE54370B7C59F178CA67972&supId=193905329

Trick-or-Treat!

Here's when we learned that yelling "Trick-or-Treat" would get us suckers and Skittles. And this is when we were cold and ready to go home.

It's Almost Friday...

Whoopee! Tomorrow is Friday. I can't wait. I have yoga tonight. Tomorrow C-man gets to wear his costume to school. That should be really funny. ********* There's still time to join my Arthritis Walk team, or donate cash to my cause. Right now I'm in first place for fundraising. Help keep me there. http://jbrmilwaukee.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=236160&lis=1&kntae236160=FA99A49C5F144BD28AC73D25064BB04E&team=2659569 A big shout out to my Mom for her generous donation!

FUNdraising

Thanks to TT and my mother-in-law for helping to keep me in the #1 fundraising spot. If you haven't joined in, here's your shot: https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=236160&lis=1&kntae236160=64FDC8DA965741CA8D38E465380B094D&supId=193905329 The walk is Sunday, November 11th. Feel free to join my team - Arthur Itis - and walk with me if you want! ************* I did acupuncture again today. It was less painful, but I swear I'm stiffer than I was before I went. She says it takes 6 times, so we'll see... The PostSecret event last night was amazing. I laughed a little, cried a little, and had a great time. I keep wracking my brain to figure out what to send in, and can't think of anything creative enough. I'm working on it though.

Fundraising Mania

Here's your chance, support me in my walk to cure Arthritis: http://JBRMilwaukee.kintera.org/jpr?faf=1&e=1315859643 Tonight is a Postsecret event in Shorewood. I'm so excited to see what the guy has to say. I have acupuncture again tomorrow. Let me tell you how not excited I am about that. But, my body aches so bad today that I can't not go. Enjoy your day!

Holy Crap, I'm a Cause!

Run 'em if you've got 'em. Actually, donate if you can. Then maybe a cure can be found for my defective 16q gene and I won't end up as one of Jerry's kids. https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=236160&supid=193905329 If anyone is up for walking through the zoo, we're walking at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 11th.

More Reasons Why I'm Married

  • I got to sleep until 9 a.m.
  • I had eggs benedict for breakfast (my fav, Fav, FAVORITE)
  • I didn't have to get rid of the dead mouse in the basement by the laundry

Enjoy your day!

Random Assortment

I purchased what has to be one of the most amazing things ever - a paraffin bath. I am going to have the softest hands ever, it feels so damned good. I dip at night, I dip in the morning, I dream of dipping while at work. I'm totally obsessed. And I can move my hands again! Yesterday was boss' day. My people got me a certificate for a massage, along with a sweet card. One of the notes in it said, "Even on days I don't want to come to work, I know it's not going to suck that bad because you're my manager." Man, that is the mark of love. Last night I crawled into bed to read. Beerman went to the bathroom. C-man was playing in his room. Beerman returned to find C-man rolling around on the floor, clutching his face. He had been spraying the Febreeze aerosol stuff, and it was so strong, you couldn't even breathe. Ahhh, spring freshness. We all about threw up. Went out for greasy breakfast this morning. Heaven. I'm heading for some acupuncture at 3 today. I don't know how I feel about that. All I can say is that you know you're in pain when you're willing to stick a bunch of needles in you and call that "feeling better". My mother-in-law is in town. I may or may not see her tonight, depending on her schedule. If not, I'm going straight to bed when I get home. I'm exhausted. Enjoy your hump day!

Are We Done Now?

As we're walking up to communion, my deeply religious child asks extra-loudly, "Are we done NOW?" Awesome. Had a great greasy breakfast and fun run through the "giraffe store". It's raining, Beerman's been gone, and I was feeling indulgent. So C-man got a firetruck he's been wanting. Now it's playtime until Beerman can get home. The latest call says there's a mechanical problem in Denver and no mechanics. Reminds me why I work the job I do these days. Enjoy your rainy Sunday. Go Pack Go!

Saturday the 13th

It should have been Friday the 13th. I've had 2 black cats cross my path, a ladder fall down in front of me, and it just feels a bit eerie. C-man and I said farewell to the farmers market today with a final churro. I don't think C-man fully understands when the season to something ends, though. After all, he was singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" all day long -- over and over and over again. The dogs are digging that it's fall. Quite literally. Harrydog won't stop digging. $75 for grooming, and he digs in the mud like a happy pig. I can't win. Anyone want to buy me some new carpet? Beerman returns tomorrow. Hopefully with a suitcase full of medals.

TGIF

Enjoy your weekend!

October 9, 2007

Another day, another name?

So in case you're under a rock, Beerman now works for MillerCoors. As long as the mortgage gets paid, I guess it doesn't matter to me. C-man has declared today that he doesn't need to wear a jacket because he's "H-O-T hot." Guess where he learned that from?

Fun Day

Apple and pumpkin picking on a gorgeous day after an enormous breakfast at IHOP, followed up with a quick trip to the grocery store and a little nap. Whew. Tough to beat that one!

Bush Whacked

I got my hair cut this morning. God, I love getting my hair cut. I wish it grew faster so I could do it more often. We went to the farmers market this morning. C-man is now eating an entire churro on his own. Good thing there's only one week left. Beerman will be in Denver, so we'll have to do it as a duo. We geocached on the way home. Quick, simple one to get my fix. Then we spent time outside, until C-man actually laid down to go to sleep on the floor of his playset. It was cute. Beerman is now putting in a new steel door in our back. The old wooden one was as windy as a kite. I've got a ton of laundry to do, but took a break from folding to watch Lidia. She's my hero. Enjoy your weekend!

No Wonder They Can't Read

I've been criss-crossing the city a lot lately. There seems to be no easy way to get from one side to the other without going through the hood. And I'm not kidding, I actually got re-routed because of a triple homicide the other day. Anyhow, that's besides the point. It's recently come out that our reading levels in this state were the worst in the nation. And I think I've figured out one of the reasons why. Every single business ends with a "Z" when it should be an "S". Trendz, Clipz, Toyz... What's up with THAT? Because it isn't cool. Anyhow, enjoy your weekend. It's going to be beautiful!

Third Time in a Week

I have yoga again tonight. Hopefully this time will help me sleep. I'm skipping next week entirely because Beerman will be at the big beer festival.
So here's to triangle pose, the one I hate the most:

October 2, 2007

On a scale of 1 - 10

You know how they always ask you to rate your pain on a 1 - 10 scale when you're at the doctor? Well, today I'm at about an 8, with 10 being dead. Holy crap, I can barely move. One more day of this weather is going to put me over the top. I'm supposed to go to book club tonight, but I think if I make it home, I'll consider the day a success. Ugh.

October 1, 2007

It's Monday!

Woopee. The good news is my major project launched today to a rousing round of success. The bad news is I have to go to yoga tonight, when I'm still in pain from Saturday's edition. Ugh. It should make me feel better, though. Which is a good thing, because I haven't been sleeping the last few days I've been in such pain. Damn rain. I know, I know. I sound like I'm 184 with that statement. But, that's my life. In case you haven't been paying attention -- like most of this country -- almost 200 monks in Myanmar were killed yesterday. Today, 500 are being detained, and refusing food from the military. As a Buddhist culture, this is a BIG deal.
